Part 2 of this course is called “Exploring melody and scales” and focuses on the impact melodies can have for a piece. Furthermore it introduces several scales.
In the very first section of this part of the course I was asked to make myself familiar with chapters 2 (Introduction to pitch), 4 (More scales, keys and clefs) and 11 (Articulation) of Eric Taylors book “The AB Guide to Music Theory – Part 1”. My reflection and commentary on those three chapters can be found here.
